In an utter blowout, the #9 Purdue Men’s Basketball team defeated Alcorn State 103-48. The last time we scored that many points was in 1998 when Gene Keady’s Boilers scored 107. The Boilers forced 28 turnovers. Four Purdue players were in double digit scoring, with E’Twaun “Smooge” Moore leading the pack with 19 (making him the 15th leading scorer in Purdue Men’s Basketball history). John Hart had a career-high 16 points, and Sandi Marcius had a career-high 12 points. JaJuan “JJ” Johnson also scored 12. With just 9 and half minutes to go in the game, the Boilers led by as many as 62 points (87-25). In a game of this nature, Purdue was able to give the bench players significant minutes, which will be very beneficial later in the season. The win improves our record to 2-0. Next up for Painter and Company is a home game this Sunday (11/21) against Oakland. BOILER UP!!!
